First OWS tri w/ long bike

Not sure if it was smart to plan back to back weekend races when I am just back to it, a bit overzealous since I had not raced in 2 yrs. Instead of a EZ training week, coach said lets train through this one and see how you respond. So VO2 Max intervals and long Sweet Spot intervals on bike and in the pool leading up to the race.
First Open Water Swim of the year- came out towards the front of the pack , which is a good swim for me
Bike- well training zapped the legs and suffered trying to stay in contact with the race leaders, not my best bike split
Run - well, some how the feet did not fail me, ran scared to catch as many as I could that passed me on the bike. Surprised myself with the 2nd fastest run of the day
Finished 7th overall and won my age group
Thanks to #hammernutrition for the pre race Chocolate GEL, Grape Fizz on the bike and Orange Vanilla Recoverite after crossing the finish line
