Great start to the season after many, many base miles.
This race was a great start to the season. It was my first race back in over a year, excluding BWR-Asheville last year. I have been focusing heavily on base since December and going in didn’t have any high expectations. This race was mainly used as a team building exercise for a youth development team that I coach. My friend and I finished 6th out 22 teams in the open/expert category. I was very happy with how my legs responded to intensity for three hours and how well I felt for a race that averaged 32F. Going forward I have one more block of base to go then it’s on to intensity and training hard for my gravel series.
