As a swimmer, basketball, cross country, and track player throughout high school, I grew up surrounded by athletics. I never considered triathlon until my sophomore year attending Winona State University where I ran Cross Country and Track at the Division II level. My coach was watching one of my cross-training days in the pool during our track season and came up to me after and said "have you ever considered triathlon as a post-collegiate?". It hadn't been a thought, but as we continued to talk about it, the more I believed I could go far in the sport. As I finished my time at Winona State I built a strong relationship with a bike shop in town and he gifted me with my first race bike and tri-kit. From then, the transition began. In the summer of 2020, I moved from Wisconsin to Montana to pursue training at altitude. That summer I was able to compete in a small triathlon in Great Falls even with Covid restrictions. Throughout the winter I continued to adjust, incorporating swimming, biking, and running into my training. In the summer of 2021, I competed in the State Championships in Montana and also in the Coeur D'Alene triathlon finishing 1st in both and with the fastest run split overall for both genders. I struggled mentally and physically in 2021. While I accomplished some goals I set out to achieve, I lost sight of myself as an athlete, my goals, and dreams, and realized I relied heavily on someone who I thought believed in me, when I needed to believe in myself. I've stopped battling with why I'm doing this, why I'm training, and what purpose I'm serving. I believe this is what the Lord has set before me. My opportunities are limitless and among the hardship, He made it visible this sport is where He wants me. I believe I am capable of far more than I can even imagine and I'm ready to see what the unimaginable may be. Reccently I completed my first 70.3 Ironman in Wisconsin and won my Age Group (17th overall). With that, I claimed my spot in the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Finland next August in 2023. I believe the opportunity to work with Stage Cycling will provide an opportunity for me to be a part of a team and excel in the sport of triathlon.
