My name is Mitchell DeYoung and I’ve been a mountain bike racer for over ten years and have spent the past five years focusing on ultra-endurance events like the National Ultra Endurance Series.
As an ultra-endurance mountain bike racer, I’ve won multiple endurance races, earned two top ten NUE finishes, and a Marji Gesick 100 belt buckle for a sub-12 hour finish. I also placed fourth overall in two ultra-endurance gravel races: the 225-mile Crusher in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and the inaugural Coast-to-Coast Gravel Grinder from Lake Huron to Lake Michigan.
I live in the Lansing, Michigan area, where I’m a member of the SPIN Race team and Capital City Cycling Club. I help lead weekly group rides, participate in annual fundraisers for local charities and mentor less experienced cyclists who are moving into ultra-endurance events. I’m also a member of the Mid-Michigan Mountain Biking Association, participate in Capital Youth Cycling events with my two sons and volunteer as a mechanic/advisor for Court One Triathlon Club.
Cycling is my passion. I’ve developed a local and regional reputation for being a successful, consistent competitor; a trusted source for advice on equipment, gear, nutrition and other products; and most importantly to me, a respected example of how cycling enriches lives.
